RISE Project Expansion: European Union Commits Additional €3 Million to Strengthen Education Access

Kampala, Uganda – Education Local Expertise Centre Uganda (ELECU) is proud to be part of the RISE (Building Resilient Inclusive Systems for Locally Led Education and Protection) consortium, which recently announced a significant expansion in its mandate following a new €3 million funding commitment from the European Union. This additional support builds on the initial €5 million contribution, enabling our consortium to extend vital education and protection services from our current areas of focus to children in Adjumani, Palabek, Rhino Camp, Kiryandongo, and Palorinya.

As a dedicated partner, ELECU remains committed to the project’s core mission: ensuring that refugee and host community children – particularly those at high risk of dropping out – have access to safe, inclusive, and quality learning environments. This new funding will be strategically directed toward addressing critical teacher shortages and providing essential cash support to vulnerable households, directly reinforcing our ongoing work on the ground.

We look forward to working alongside our consortium partners to consolidate these gains, strengthen district-level education systems, and reach even more children across Uganda’s refugee-hosting districts.
